The book “Though Shalt Prosper” by Rabbi Daniel Lapin was recently recommended a second time. I knew it was time for me to download it to the Kindle on my iPhone and get started. Though I am only a few chapters in, it appears to be a book I will wholeheartedly endorse.

This year I was fortunate enough to share Christmas with my girlfriend Denise and her family, and have her share Jewish Christmas with me Christmas night.
I am going to throw PC, political correctness, out the window and just say it, “Christmas is the most wonderful time of the year!” Not Hanukah. Not Kwanza. Not Festivus for the rest of us. Yes. All of these other holidays are just fine and dandy. Look. I’m Jewish. I make a mean potato latke, but let’s face it...Christmas rocks!
We are rounding third base and headed home to Christmas and soon to be a brand new year!
A few weeks ago, I called the restaurant I formerly owned and operated to order a few smoked turkey breasts for Thanksgiving. Just about everyone in my family is a white meat fan. With heading out to Mexico the day after Thanksgiving, I opted to let someone else cook the turkey.
Not many people know I was born in Paris, France. My father was recruited by a U.S. company to move to Memphis for a job. At the ripe old age of two and a half, I came to this country. One of the first families my parents met had a son my age named Stephen. Stephen and I went to the same school through nursery school, elementary school, high school and college. In fact, it took us both five years to graduate from Memphis State.
Talladega Nights, starring Will Ferrell as Ricky Bobby, a Nascar driver, is one of the most hilarious films. There are moments I laughed so hard; I was crying rivers of tears. Just the thought of some of the scenes now gives me a chuckle.
