Catering Menu Item Inventory Management is Here!

If you’ve been following our blog, you’ll have noticed how we’re constantly upgrading our catering software with new features and functionalities.

This week, we’re back with another new commonly-requested feature: menu item inventory management!

Now, you’re able to limit quantities of an item sold each day by selecting how many items are available each day of the week.

You won’t have to worry about overselling a product anymore, as CaterZen makes it easy to set your limits and automatically keep track of inventory.

Flexible Quantity Settings By Day and Location

The first step in managing your menu item quantities is to select which of your menu items will be added to the inventory tracking.

Then, when you visit the new menu inventory module, you’ll see the menu items you’ve selected. Here is where you can decide how many quantities of each item are available for each day of the week.

If item quantities aren’t consistent each week, simply revisit this module to update the quantities on a weekly basis, or even daily, if necessary.

You’re able to define the quantities for each location of your restaurant or catering business.

When an item gets sold, the inventory will automatically update.

Remaining Quantity of Items Available Shown During Ordering Process

When you place an order in the back end of CaterZen's software, you'll be told how many quantities of a limited item are available for the selected day the order is to be ready.

You’ll receive a warning notification if you try to order a quantity of an item that exceeds the availability. You’re able to override the warning if you know you’re able to fulfill the order.

When clients place an order through your online ordering site, they’ll also get a notification about item availability, and they'll be provided with a phone number if they want to inquire about exceptions.
